The Department of Community and Family Medicine at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bibinagar in collaboration with ICMR-NIN will host the 50th Annual National Conference of IAPSM, on 02nd to 04th February, 2023. IAPSM – Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine, a professional organization which caters to the academic and research interests of nearly 7000 members from across India serving in different medical colleges, Govt. Health departments, NGOs and various institutes working in field of research, training, epidemiology and surveillance. The Association holds Annual Conferences every year in different parts of the country. The theme for this year’s National Conference is “Innovation and Introspection in Public Health: One Health One Planet” which is very appropriate as far as the global security and sustainable development goals were concerned. Areas in public health like Maternal and Child Health, Adolescent Health and Life cycle Approach, Environmental Health and Occupation, Virtual Learning and Digitalization, Innovation in Public Health, Non- Communicable Diseases, Nutrition, One Health will be given key importance as sub themes.
Her Excellency, Honourable Governor of Telangana and honourable Lt. Governor of Puducherry, Dr. (Smt.) Tamilisai Soundararajan Madam will inaugurate the conference on 2nd of February, 2023 in the esteemed presence of Executive Director, AIIMS Bibinagar Prof. (Dr.) Vikas Bhatia, who is the Patron and Organizing Chairperson for the IAPSM Conference 2023 and Director NIN, Dr. Hemalatha R, the co-patron of IAPSMCON 2023 along with Dr. Purushottam Giri, General Secretary IAPSM, Prof (Dr.) Neeraj Agarwal, Medical superintendent, AIIMS Bibinagar and Organizing Chairperson IAPSMCON 2023.
It was a great experience to see both the National Institutes; AIIMS Bibinagar and National Institute of Nutrition, ICMR come together and coordinate for conducting such a mega event, which is the first physical conference after COVID-19 Pandemic. With over 1200 delegates from across the nation and 20 partnering agencies, including eminent organizations like UNICEF, BMGF, Jhpeigo, NHSRC, AIG, Alive and thrive, WHO, CAFHER, Biotech, Global Health Initiative, NCD-WHF and more.The Conference is a great way to bring the public health experts as well as the budding talents under one Umbrella. The three day conference will proceed with thirteen plenary sessions, numerous keynote addresses, Quiz competitions, treasure hunt and other PG activities.
