Lathama Foundation is working towards providing employment opportunities to poor women in Old City of Hyderabad is organizing a two day long exhibition in the premises of VirinchiGroup Corporate Office located in Road No.1, Banjarahills. The two day long exhibition will be open from today 16th June 2023 to tomorrow 17th June and will sell various women dresses stitched by poor women living old city with the financial, technical help from Lathama Foundation. Lathama Foundation is a NGO working in upliftment of poor women in old by providing skill development training, providing necessary infrastructure to start tailoring and other small employment opportunities, providing skill training such as enhancing spoken English skills, communication skills and other skill required for preparing young women for corporate and other jobs, providing health care assistance and free deliveries to pregnant women etc.
Speaking on the occasion Smt Madhavi Latha Kompella, Chairman, Lathama Foundation has explained that foundation is working towards various employment opportunities in the old city and in the process trained several women in tailoring. She also informed that these trained women has been provided with financial assistance to procure tailoring machines and also provided material to prepare variety of cloths exclusively for women. The cloths manufactured by these women are on the exhibition stitched by using high quality materials are available at very low cost in the exhibition, she added. She also revealed that the proceedings generated through sales of the exhibition will shared back to women behind manufacturing them.
The organizers from Lathama Foundation has appealed to the people to make use of the opportunity and support the initiative undertaken to help poor women in Old City thus enabling these women to achieve financial independence.
