Hyderabad, March 2024: Actress Kushita Kallapu joined doctors, mothers and would be mothers, at the International Women’s Day celebrations atApollo Cradle, Kondapur; with the theme #StrongwomenstrongBharat, atthe Apollo Cradle, Kondapur. Actress Kushita Kallapu said, the society will be strong only if the women are strong, therefore every woman should care for herself as much as she cares for the family. Consume healthy diet, do regular physical exercise, have regular checkups and follow Doctor’s advice.

Dr Vangallu Padmini Silpa said, the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day is ‘Inspire Inclusion’, which means that women should be included in everything that matters. Women’s health is always a priority, because a healthy women makes a healthy family, it is the woman who always takes a backstep when it comes to own health. There is tremendous gender gap in health when it comes to the actions of the policy makers, the government and healthcare professionals, there always has been a gender bias in health, that bias should cease immediately and women’s health should become the topmost priority.
Dr Shweta Sikarwar said, though women are progressing in terms of social status, beliefs, education etc., but one thing women have been lacking badly is financial independence and financial knowledge, it is considered that the decisions related to finance are of male domain, half the time the women themselves don’t evince interest in it just to avoid a hassle, but it’s very important to secure our financial status. As Doctors we are the least literate in financial matters. In fact it’s heartening to know from a recent survey that women bank account holders have surpassed men account holders. Financial literacy enables women folk to stand up for themselves in a better way.
Dr Harika Reddy said, taking care of ourselves should be the top priority and then the family’s. Getting a pap smear done should be mandatory, because if a simple test like that can prevent cancer, we should all go for it.
